Design the Unseen: Educating Designers to Consider the Micro and Macro for Sustainability

Join the University of Oregon, Portland State University and the Art Institute of Portland for a fascinating evening where educators from the Portland area will present innovative student and faculty research advancing sustainability with an ensuing panel discussion on academia’s role in advancing sustainability.

This event will showcase how academia is addressing sustainability by connecting research with course curriculum, preparing the next generation of leaders and laying the foundation for moving this research into built projects by working directly with industry.

Come with questions. We look forward to collaborating with the design profession.

Presenters Include:
1. Mark Fretz, Associate Director of Knowledge Exchange, Assistant Research Professor
2. Elizabeth Lockwood, Interior Design Faculty, LEED AP ID+C, IIDA Professional, IDEC
3. Travis Bell, Associate Professor in Sustainable Design in the School of Architecture
