Join Lovett Deconstruction and the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability for a one-of-a-kind Sustainable Building Week event and gain 1 AIA LU in the process!
This presentation is hosted by the Carbon Leadership Forum’s Portland regional hub, which focuses on the carbon impact of building materials. First enjoy a cookie and coffee while the City of Portland’s Lauren Zimmermann talks about the first Deconstruction Ordinance in the United States, grown right here in Portland, and its effects on the local building material supply and economy. Next you’ll hear from Der Lovett, founder of Lovett Deconstruction, about the process of deconstruction and the quality materials in circulation in the Portland region. Don’t miss the opportunity to tour the Lovett Salvage Shop and enjoy some fall colors along Forest Park.
Lauren Zimmermann
Lauren Zimmermann is an Embodied Carbon Analyst within the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability at the City of Portland. She conducts research and collaborates with other bureaus, cities, regional councils, and coalitions to develop policy recommendations that will reduce the embodied carbon of building materials, construction practices, and waste management in Portland.
Der Lovett
Der Lovett is the owner of Lovett Deconstruction and Salvage, Portland’s first deconstruction company. With exacting standards for service and a dedication to an exceptional client experience, Der’s approach to deconstruction hasn’t changed much since the company’s founding nearly 20 years ago. As Der says, “We do what we say we’re going to do, when we say we’re going to do it, better than the client can imagine. And that sets the stage for the entire project.”
