Mass Timber Research Symposium at TallWood Design Institute

TDI’s 2022 Mass Timber Research Symposium is an opportunity to learn about and discuss mass timber and mass timber research projects. Over twenty research projects will be reviewed in a high-level, short-duration format. The four major topics/sessions of the day will include:

• Structural & Seismic (Innovative lateral systems; mass plywood systems; timber concrete composite systems; water and mass timber)

• Fire (Timber beam-to-column connections; smoldering behavior of connections; fire protection for construction sequencing; etc.)

• Design, Sustainability, Building Performance and Human Health (carbon; energy/seismic retrofits; modular affordable housing; acoustics; microbial performance; reuse and circular economy; restoration fiber)

• Manufacturing and Supply Chain (restoration fiber; global manufacturing trends; termites; Oregon mass timber supply chain)
