After a welcome from Brightworks and PAE, Jeff will walk you through the space, sharing the story of the specific materials both visible and invisible that made this incredible building the healthy, low-carbon, sustainable place that it is. Following the tour, join Jeff and your fellow attendees to continue the discussion of what makes great materials over wine, beer, and snacks.

Speaker Bio:

Jeff Frost is a Senior Technical Specialist at Brightworks Sustainability, a sustainability consulting firm that helps clients in over 25 industries establish and implement sustainability programs. For almost two decades, Jeff has sought to make the selection of sustainable materials the simple choice. He’s built a scoring framework that translates our complex materials market into numerical values to guide sustainable procurement choices for clients and drive market transformation and reward innovation.

In partnership with a coalition of owners and industry peers, Jeff is helping to establish a comprehensive accounting of the embodied carbon emissions of building projects and to seek an approved pathway for reporting these as scope 3 emissions by WRI. This multi-year effort will allow for repeatable, defensible accounting of embodied carbon, empowering our client’s ability to reduce and offset these emissions.

He is a member of the Connect Advisory Board for the Common Materials Framework with mindful Materials and an original co-founder of the mindful Materials Collaborative, former co-chair of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative’s (HPDC) Content Inventory Technical Subgroup and User Advisor Panel; a former member of the American Institute of Architect’s Material Knowledge Working Group; and former member of the USGBC’s MR TAG.
