The Oregon Conservation Center and newly remodeled Oregon headquarters of The Nature Conservancy is a shining example of sustainability and seamless local partnerships. Through collaboration with Sustainable Northwest Wood, the project partners Lever Architecture and Lease Crutcher Lewis were able to trace many of their wood materials back to the source. In this case, the cedar and juniper decking, siding and fencing for the Nature Conservancy project originated from Nature Conservancy lands. They utilized other locally fabricated materials including weathering steel and FSC-certified Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and glulam beams. The Nature Conservancy was guided from concept to completion by their mission to create a world – and an office space – where people and nature can thrive.
Hosted by Sustainable Northwest Wood, President RyanTemple will guide this tour, along with the project architect Timothy Cooke with Lever Architecture and members of The Nature Conservancy team for a morning of questions, answers, and inspiration. Enjoy a light breakfast, coffee, tea and conversation.
