Wildfire smoke, heat waves, utility interruptions, and airborne pathogens represent the emerging future in which we design. This session will feature case studies of how windows directly address these issues, and in each case, how the best architectural strategy required advocacy and a rethinking of outdated norms and institutional standards.
Event Speakers:
Corey Squire – Corey Squire is Bora’s Director of Sustainability and a recognized thought leader in sustainable design who has empowered multiple award-winning design firms to achieve high-performance projects across their portfolios. He lectures nationally on a range of sustainability-related topics and was a lead author of the AIA Framework and Toolkit, resources that are actively redefining excellence in the built environment.
Thuy Le – Thuy Le is a licensed Architect at Bora. She holds a Master of Architecture from MIT, where she performed research on mass timber application in mid-rise housing. Thuy carries her passion for sustainability and equity into a range of projects at the firm, from affordable housing to public libraries.
Matthew Robinson – Matthew Robinson is an Architectural Designer at Bora dedicated to creating healthy spaces for people and communities. Matthew graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon.
Christian Cutul – Christian Cutul is a licensed Architect at Bora with experience in multifamily affordable housing, K-12 schools, and public and commercial projects. He brings particular expertise in the complexity of detailing windows and building envelopes.
