TallWood Design Institute: Research into Carbon Narratives for Design Planning, Acoustic Performance and Microbial Performance of Wooden Interiors
This event has passed. You can view the recording here.
Please Join the TallWood Design Institute along Dr. Mark Fretz and Dr. Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg of University of Oregon’s College of Design as they discuss their research investigating wood as a modern building material, and specifically, its impacts on environmental and human health and promising new applications.
As part of Sustainable Building Week, Kevin and Mark discuss some of their work focusing on mass timber acoustic performance, carbon/environmental data, and microbial performance of wood as an interior material, specifically in health care environments. SPEAKERS Dr. Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg, Professor at University of Oregon’s (UO) Department of Architecture and Director of the Institute for Health in the Built Environment (IHBE) and Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory (ESBL) is joined by Dr. Mark Fretz, Research Assistant Professor at UO’s Department of Architecture and Assistant Director of Knowledge Exchange at IHBE and ESBL https://buildhealth.uoregon.edu/ https://esbl.uoregon.edu/
